IMPHAL, Feb 19: The Association for Arrested Teachers Family (AFATEF) in a statement has appealed all concerned enumerator to stay away from census duty within the 40 Assembly Constituencies of valley district adding that the AFATEF should not be held responsible for any untoward incident arising out of the non-compliance of the appeal the AFATEF.
The statement further said that the volunteers of AFATEF today conducted a drive wherein rounded up some teachers with vested interest accepting census duty in an around the Imphal area.
While labeling the individuals as stooges of the Government, it said that strict warning has been given to the teachers, who were caught during the drive, not to repeat adding it welcomes the steps taken by the teachers in the hill districts for endorsing the agitation of the COTA.
