IMPHAL March 15: A public meet was held at Iram Siphai Mamang Leikai endordhing the need for holding a plebiscite so as to bring an end to the conflict situation in the state. The meeting was held by Iram Siphai Mamang Laikai Nupi Kanglup and Laiphrakpam Samaj Thoudang Nupi Kanglup at Iram Siphai community hall.
The meeting was attended by S Momon Leima,president of Tammi Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup among other prominent women leaders.
UCM vice president Y Nabachandra and secretary of UPF O Bikramjit attended as the resource persons, both speakers dwelled on the need for holding the plebiscite and the need foe focus of the public on the matter.
The meeting resolved to push forward the agebda of holding the plebiscite and to transfer the case of UNLF chairman Rk Meghen among others to the state. The resolution will be highlighted to other concerned UN human rights groups.
