IMPHAL, May 24: The meeting of the Public Accounts Committee, Manipur Legislative Assembly will be commencing from May 30 and will continue till June 15 at the committee room of the Manipur Legislative Assembly secretariat to take up examination of the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Appropriation Accounts and Finance Accounts for the year 2008-09 and 2009-10, for various major departments of the state.
In this regard, an official notification has been issued by the Deputy Secretary PAC of Manipur Legislative Assembly on May 21 last.
The official notification has reminded the chairman and members of PAC of Manipur Legislative Assembly to attend the series of meeting of the committee which will start from May 30 at the Committee room of the Assembly and will examined the reports of Taxation department on May 30, while reports of the Irrigation and Flood Control & Minor Irrigation Deptt will beexamined on May 31.
It has further reminded that examination of reports of the Irrigation and Flood Control deptt will be done on June 1 while that of Finance Department will be done on June, 2.
Examination for the General Departments including Planning and Science Technology Departments will be held on June 3.
The PAC meeting will resume on June 7, as there will be examination of reports of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Deptt on May 7.
Examination of the report of Health and Family Welfare Department, will be held on June 8 while reports of Agriculture and Revenue Departments will be done on June 9.
It further reminded that reports of Public Health Engineering Department and Public Works Department will be examined on June 10.
The official notification also mentioned that, the examination of the reports for taxation, Forest and Finance will be reexamined on June, 13, 14 and 15 respectively by the committee during its scheduled sitting.
It may be mentioned that the Public Accounts Committee of the Manipur Legislative Assembly has been newly appointed by the Speaker Manipur Legislative assembly on the consent of the house with the chairman by Opposition leader MLA Radhabinod Koijam, and comprises of six members including senior opposition member MLA O Joy Singh, MLA, Brajabidhu Singh, MLA. Dr, Kh, Ratankumar, MLA. Dr, Ng. Bijoy Singh, MLA. Dr I Ibohalbi and MLA M. Prithviraj Singh.
