NE Support Centre clarifies on rape case of minor girl

IMPHAL, Sept 3: North East Support Centre & Helpline has clarified to the appeal made by All Andro Meira Paibee Association, All Andro Youth Club Association, Eastern Scheduled Caste Student Union Andro and Andro Nagar Panchayat Councillors on a physically challenged minor girl from Wangkhei, seduced, intoxicated and raped on August 21 at Kongba Bazar by a man aged about 20 years from Andhro Kunjao.

North East Support Centre & Helpline has withheld the names and details of the victim and rapist from making public disclosure on the ground of protecting their privacies. North East Support Centre & Helpline respects every human being and refrain from public disclosure of privacy on humanitarian ground.

North East Support Centre & Helpline appeals the concerned citizens of Andro, who are concerned about the identity of offender, may contact Irilbung Police station, Imphal East, where the details of offender and victims are recorded under FIR 68/18/2011.

The concerned citizens of Andro are hereby appealed to cooperate with law enforcing agencies to bring the rapist under the law of the land.

North East Support Centre & Helpline has appealed to Chief Minister of Manipur, Director General of Police, Manipur State Commission for Women and National Commission for Minorities to take up the matter.

The nature of the crimes includes seducing, intoxicating and raping a physically challenged underage girl. FIR booked under 376 section of IPC is incomplete. Rainbow Fast Food resto bar at Kongba Bazar where the crime took place, should also be booked under the law of the land.

Ms Anita (name changed) 15 years old physically challenged underage girl from Wangkhei was seduced, intoxicated and raped by a man age around 20 at Rainbow Fast Food resto bar at Kongba Bazar, Manipur on August 21, 2011 at around 4.30PM. She was abandoned and found unconscious from a house nearby Kongba Bazar same day at 9 PM.
