NEW DELHI, July 23 (ANI): A day after the results of presidential elections were announced, oil companies on Monday hiked petrol prices across the nation by 70 paise per litre.
The new rates would be effective post midnight.
The hike means petrol will cost Rs. 68.48 for a litre in New Delhi against Rs. 67.78, Rs. 74.05 against Rs. 73.35 in Mumbai, Rs. 76.10 against Rs. 75.40 in Chennai, Rs. 80.31 against Rs. 79.61 in Bengaluru, Rs. 76.51 against Rs.75.81 in Kolkata, Rs. 73.45 Gandhinagar, Rs. 73.51 in Bhopal and Rs. 69.85 in Chandigarh.
Reportedly, a hike in diesel prices is likely too. Further details are awaited.
