IMPHAL, October 13: The 17th Annual Conference of Association of Surgeons of India, Manipur State Chapter begins today here at the Jubilee Hall of RIMS.
The inauguration function was attended by Rishang Keishing, MP, Rajya Sabha, and former Chief Minister of Manipur; Prof Ng Bijoy Singh, MLA, former vice-chancellor of Manipur University, former director of RIMS and founder president of ASI, Manipur State Chapter; Dr MG Nariani, president elect, Association of Surgeons of India; and Prof H Manihar Singh, president, ASI, Manipur State Chapter as the chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
MP Rishang Keishing massage on the occasion says: “Surgery has been an integral path of medical treatment since time immemorial. Life and death depends on the fingers of the surgeon that is why the role of the surgeon has become so crucial in treatment of a patient. We need to recognize the role of the surgeon. The surgeon also should realize his responsibility towards his patient with total dedication and sacrifice.”
