IMPHAL, November 17: The Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya today organized a conference on “Call of time for Inner Sense of Calmness” at the Human Resource Development Academy today.
The programme was also attended by Agriculture Minister, Md Abdul Nashir as chief guest, executive secretary, Medical Wing RERF, Ever Healthy Hospital, Shantivan Dr Banarsilal Sah as special guest, Deputy Secretary COHSEM, Th Ranbir as president and national coordinator, Youth Wing, Ahmedabad Rajyogini Brahmakumari Chandrika, Medical Director & Cancer Specialist, Global Hospital Mt Abu, Dr Ashok R Mehta, Associate Professor Psychiatry RIMS Dr RK Lenin as guests of honour.
The programme was hosted by Brahmakumaris Manipur in charge Rajygini Brahmakumari Nilima.
Minister Md Abdul Nashir said peace could be attained only by believing in one’s religion regardless of what one’s religion is.
The violence that we see today around the world is created by people who have no beliefs in their religion.
Insatiable greed amongst the people has led to all the unwanted incidents in the world, the Minister continued.
The Minister further opined that the act of ‘Jihad’ is construed by many to be sanctioned by religion, which is not right.
He further criticised Osama Bin Laden for his acts of “terrorism” and said that the dead terrorist’s acts were not sanctioned by Islam and that it was the terrorist’s own act.
He concluded by expressing that one should never create problem for others for their own good to bring peace into the world.
RIMS Associate professor, Dr RK Lenin in his speech dwelt on the importance of meditation and said he himself is a firm believer of meditation.
Continuing further, the doctor said that he incorporates meditation in his treatment of his patients advising them to take up meditation for peace of mind.
There have been several psychiatric patients who have been treated with just meditation without any medications, he further continued.
