IMPHAL, Feb 20: Supporting the two day All India General strike on February 20 and 21 called by major trade unions including the Indian National Trade Union Congress, the All Manipur Petroleum Tanker Drivers’ Union has refrained from their daily activities today.
According to information received by IFP, none of the trucks carrying LPG or oil tankers arrived at Imphal today and none have left Imphal to reload tanks. The oil tankers have also denied unloading its tanks.
Meanwhile, even though the tankers have refrained from unloading its tanks, according to a source; there is sufficient oil stock at the Indian Oil Corporation depot. The source further added that here are around 80 oil tankers at Khuman Lampak interstate bus terminus which are yet to unload its tanks.
