IMPHAL, April 24:A press statement signed by N. Olen, the Chairman of the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) has greeted the people of the state, the constituent members of the CorCom and people living in Western South East Asia (WESA) on the occasion of the outfit`s 19th Foundation day on April 25. The statement mentions that leaders of various rebel groups need to examine their paths and refrain from getting self delusional with the nature of their journey and aims. “Revolutionaries should consult the intellectual class and do all that is possible to find a way out of the current status quo of rebel groups losing their way,” it said.
Pointing out that the society is in a state of slumber, it called upon experts, intellectuals and others to come together and find a way out and said there needs to be a stronger partnership with the people to arrive at solutions.
It cautioned that those in the Government keep spreading misinformation to the people that the ills of the society in the state are due to the spectre of insurgency even as some insurgent groups resort to anti people action and un-revolutionary means under the influence various actors and mislead the people.
Making the point that about 20% of the hardship being faced by the people would have be due to insurgency, the statement said that about 30% of the hardships faced by the people would be on account of the various measures being put in place to contain insurgency while the remaining would be on account of fake revolutionaries, the statement said that the armed forces also contribute a major share of the burden and problems faced by the people.
