IMPHAL, February 24: The Global Youth Meet 2014, India held under the theme ‘promoting young blood donor and looking beyond disasters’ concluded today at the premise of MFDC hall.
The meet which commenced from February 20, was organised by Club 25 International Manipur.
The interaction program was attended by youth from several countries like Vietnam, Nigeria, Indonesia and other states of India.
Rajan Kantel, Central President of club 25 Nepal, Fadilah, National President of club 25 Nigeria and K Mangi Singh, Chairman club 25 International Manipur attended today’s closing function as the presidium members.
Y Rajen, Kandel (Nepal) received the Club 25 International Youth Award; Shabirna Nida, All Hashina, Indonesia received the Global Youth Meet Special Award 2014, while Phu Thu Hein of Vietnam received the best club 25 young Award.
During the last day of the meet, cultural programs of the Kom tribe were showcased by the Cultural Dance and Research Centre, Churachandpur.
Thougal Jagoi and the Manipuri Classical Dance were also presented during the last day of the meet.
Organising secretary, Global Youth Meet, 2014, India K Karnajit told this IFP reporter that the observation of the global youth meet was successful, however, the organisers faced some financial problems due to lack of proper funding from the state government.
The organisers faced some problem in provision of fooding and accommodation for the participants, he lamented.
He further continued that the delegates are demanding some refunds as it had been much costlier to arrive in the state than they had expected.
If the government extend greater support such meet could be organised regularly, he said.
