IMPHAL, Oct 19: The Churachandpur Students’ Union (CDSU) today, inaugurated its administrative building at New Bazar bus parking, Churachandpur. The building was inaugurated by Thomas Taishya, president, ATSUM.
In his brief notes, Taishya asserted that the students’ body could play the role of checks and balances and work for the welfare of the community. In an hour-long programme, Rev. L.Khamkholun, general secretary EBC, Dorcas Hall, invoked and dedicated the building to God, beseeching King Solomon’s wisdom and knowledge so that the students’ leaders could lead in a right and just way.
In his presidential address, Lalkhohao Chongloi, while thanking the immense contributions made by the former leaders, emphasized the ‘oneness’ and unity among different tribes in Churachandpur. The president further stressed that, ‘CHIBAI’ (a word inscribed on the building’s door) “signifies that CDSU welcomes each and every people with open arms irrespective of which tribe you belongs to†and urged the general public to continue to support the students’ body in the days to come.
Among the VIPs’ who attended, Langkhanpao Guite, Chairman, ADC, Churachandpur expressed his gratitude to the Union, and stressed his hope that the CDSU could play a pivatol role in the process of unification and development in the future. In their short speeches, distinguished leaders-MDC’s, chiefs, leaders of civil society groups, et al- encouraged the Union to work for the welfare of the community.
In his vote of thanks, CDSU’s Asst.Secy., Inf.& Pub.,Th. Liankhogin expressed his gratitude to all the VIPs’, invitees and all the participants who attended the inaugural programme,particularly the Chairman, ADC, Ccpur for the realization of the building and to all sponsors/donors for the success of the inaugural programme.
