UKHRUL, May 14: Manipur Governor Vinod Kumar Duggal has today said that he has seen for himself the deprivation of proper health care to the people of Ukhrul due to various resource constraints faced by the lone government district hospital and assured to find solution to the problem.
Duggal said this during his maiden visit to the township on Wednesday, accompanied by secretary to Governor RK Nimai and principal secretary Ram Muivah. He came along with his wife but the lady Governor had parted ways on account of separate program after lunch at Ukhrul circuit house, Hamleikhong.
“I have seen it for myself and I intent to talk to Manipur government to find solution to your problems,” Governor said referring to various shortfall in health care facilities and manpower promptly highlighted by CMO Ngampam Raikhan during a short meeting with doctors and medical staff of the hospital.
The Governor also interacted with several indoor patients in male, female and child wards of the hospital and wished them quick recovery, apart from inspecting different departments of the health centre.
Duggal was accompanied by Ukhrul DC Modak Hrisheekesh throughout his itinerary in the district headquarters today.
Earlier during the day upon his arrival at Hungpung, Governor inspected a new upcoming district hospital which has been under construction since the last many years pending completion at Naga Gate, Dungrei.
Thereafter around 2:30 pm, Governor chaired a meeting with all District Level Officers of the district at the chamber of deputy commissioner. Meanwhile, lady Governor visited Handloom cluster at Phungreitang, Ningrin Club, an orphanage at Alungtang and interacted with the inmates.
The Governor and his entourage is to stay overnight at 10 Sector AR. Somsai tonight from where the team is heading to Shirui village Thursday morning where Duggal will inaugurate Shirui Lily Week observance.
