IMPHAL, January 9: Major General Rajeev Chopra, IG AR (South) & Rashmi Chopra on behalf of 2nd Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles has distributed Embroidery Machines to the Weavers Cooperative Society of Sangaiyumpham, Thoubal district under the Assam Rifles Military Civic Action programme.
According to a release of the PRO Assam Rifles, Major General Rajeev Chopra, IGAR (South) asserted that the Assam Rifles is committed towards overall development of the region and is making yeoman service for the development of remote areas. He further exhorted the villagers to continue co-operating with the Security Forces so as to bring peace in the region at the earliest.
Rashmi Chopra was appreciative of the efforts of the Weavers Society of Sangaiyumpham towards earning their livelihood and wished the society the very best and assured them of all the assistance and support for their further endeavour, it said.
