IMPHAL, February 23: The joint students`™ body formed by students`™ unions of the DM College of Science, DM College of Arts and DM College of Commerce today staged a sit-in protest against the government`™s failure to improve the condition of the road inside the DM College campus.
The students dug the road near the gate and didn`™t allow any vehicles inside the college campus.
Talking to the media, DM College of Arts finance secretary S Taibanganba Meetei said all the students`™ unions of the college have already approached the Chief Minister and other concerned ministers to re-construct the road inside the college campus as the students, teachers and other commuters were facing problems on account of the pitiable condition of the road.
However, the government has remained silent over the matter and has failed to take up any action till now, added S Taibanganba Meetei.
The joint students`™ union will launch an indefinite class boycott from February 24 until the concerned authorities repair the road, S Taibanganba Meetei said.
