IMPHAL, March 20: The United National Liberation Front, UNLF, has claimed responsibility for the bomb warning served to Miss Lourembam Diana daughter of L. Jten and L Pramo of Yengkhom Leikai.
A release of the underground organisation said Diana was served this warning because she has been using the name of the UNLF to fool people to pay her money on the promise that she can get jobs for them in the Home Department and Social Welfare Department of the Manipur Government.
It said the UNLF has come to learn that from one particular individual she has taken Rs. 14,11,000.
After taking the money, instead of getting the promised job for the individual, she claimed that the money had been handed over to UNLF commander, Bobby. The party also came to learn that Diana`™s family members were also accomplices in her fraudulent activities, the release further said.
The release said, Diana also told the person she took the money from that Commander Bobby worked under Shekharjit, Khetrajit and Achanba of the UNLF, and that she herself was a subordinate working on behalf of the UNLF under Bobby.
It also said investigation revealed that Bobby was nobody but her own elder brother.
The release said, in regards the case, the UNLF had sent words to Diana and her family to appear before the UNLF and clarify matters on March 3, 2015, as the UNLF does not believe in awarding punishment without trial.
Diana and her family however did not pay heed to the UNLF summon. This being the case, the UNLF was compelled to serve them the first warning, and the grenade explosion at her residence had precisely this purpose, it added.
The UNLF has now served Diana and her family to again appear before the UNLF on March 15, and it this summon is again ignored, the UNLF will award severe penalty, the release said.
The UNLF release also apologised to Diana`™s neighbourhood for causing the shock of a bomb blast.
It also clarified that the UNLF does not indulge in awarding government contracts, supply jobs or bribe pushing to get government jobs for anybody. It further appealed to the public to extend cooperation in the UNLF`™s effort to cleanse the society of all its ills.
