KANGPOKPI, June 20: The fifth batch of the ongoing training program of three days duration which was also the concluding batch on Post-Harvest Technology organised by Amity International Centre for Post Harvest Technology and Cold Chain Management (AICPHT&CCM), Amity University, Noida, UP has ended at KVK-Senapati Campus today.
AICPHT&CCM, Amity University, Noida, UP organised the training programme in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Hengbung, Senapati which was sponsored by Dept. of Bio-Technology, Govt. of India.
The concluding batch was participated by 30 rural youth and farm women from different parts of the district.
Programme Coordinator, KVK Hengbung, Dr. N. Jyotsna has said that Amity University in association with KVK-Senapati had so far organised five training programmes on Post Harvest Technology under the sponsorship of DBT, Govt. of India where more than 170 rural youths and women got benefit.
During the programmes, the participants were imparted hands on training on pineapple candy making, pineapple juice, mixed vegetables pickle, plum chutney, plum nectar, whole tomato concentrate, passion fruit squash, blanching potato, French fries and wafers, stated Dr. N. Jyotsna.
She continued that Amity University has set up a mini food processing unit at KVK-Senapati campus where any interested person/group can avail the facilities available at the unit for short-term training course or for personal use with the permission of the KVK.
The Program Coordinator also said that the founder president of Amity Education Institutions, Dr. Ashok Chauhan and Chairman , AICPHT&CCM, Prof. Sunil Saran are very enthusiastic to continue these trainings in N.E. region provided the funds are available.
From the experience of these training it has been observed that many trainees are interested to establish their own small units for enhancing their income and become entrepreneurs, she added.
