One seriously injured and several others also hospitalized during ILP protest in Jiribam

Jiribam, Aug 1: A 22 year old protester, Nungsithoi  from Gulathol village was seriously injured in police action to control agitators demanding implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Jiribam. According to Jiri hospital doctors, he is seriously injured in his head and condition is critical, doctors have referred him to other hospitals  in Assam which are better equipped.

This incident happened near the house of local MLA Thoudam Debendra Singh, a chairman of ILP drafting committee when protesters were shouting slogan in demand of Inner Line Permit.

According to the sources, among other protesters including KanglaOnline reporter Momon Thoudam also injured, many of them were hospitalized in Jiribam district hospital.
