IMPHAL, Dec 19: The Secretariat: Labour and Employment department has said in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the Manipur Shops & Establishment Act, 1972 (Act IV of 1973), the Governor of Manipur is pleased to suspend the operation of sub-section (I) of Section 10 of the said Act on December 20 (Sunday) in respect of all Shops & Establishments lying within Imphal Municipality areas to facilitate the public for purchasing their requirements for the ensuring Christmas subject to the condition that the employees of the Shops and Establishments shall be allowed an alternative holiday.
