Addl English reintroduced, last date extended

IMPHAL, Dec 26: The Additional English is reinstated in the scheme for Class-IX and X in lieu of Modern Indian Language (MIL) and another option for indigenous tribal students domiciled in Manipur irrespective of the conditions whether their mother tongues have been recognized as an MIL subject or not.

According to Secretary Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM), the indigenous tribal students can change Additional English instead of MIL recognized by the board after payment of Rs. 1000 as subject correction fee.

As result of the reinstatement, the last date of submission of forms for the HSLC examinations 2016 also extended for all schools (both hills and valleys) till January 5, 2016 (without late fine) and with a late fine of Rs 200 per student forms can be submitted till January 11, 2016. The late fine which was already paid will be refunded or adjusted to the respective schools, he added.
