IMPHAL, Feb 27: Even as the Autonomous District Council (ADC) election in the five hill districts was held in 2015, the government is yet to pay hiring charges to the private vehicles used in the election.
Sources said the vehicles were requisitioned by Directorate of Transport for using in the election as per the Order No 7/1/2015-SEC issued by the State Election Commission on May 18, 2015.
The private vehicles including bus, truck and DI Tata 207 were hired days before the election. The process for hiring the vehicles was done under the instruction of Director of Directorate of Transport, H Rosita.
Perturbed by the non-payment of the hiring charges even after one year of the election, owners of the vehicles have decided to seek legal action against the Directorate, the sources stated.
