IMPHAL, March 28: Congress MLA RK Imo has on March 23 demanded the BJP to identify the Congress MLAs who are seeking to join the BJP as was claimed by the BJP leaders.
Ridiculing the claims as unfounded, he said if the BJP leaders can identify the MLAs as they claim, he will escort the MLAs to the BJP’s doorstep.
The MLA was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a community hall at Sagolband Bijoy Govinda Lairenjam Leikai Keli Makhong on March 23.
Imo said the BJP claims were baseless and unfounded.
The BJP leaders should think properly before uttering anything that comes to their mind, he added.
He said there might have been some minor issues in the party which is normal for every party; but the issue is not such that the MLAs will start leaving the party to join the BJP, he added.
Imo also quoted Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and said the Ministry of Tourism has already agreed on the proposal to renovate Bijoy Govinda and funds will be sanctioned soon.
It will be taken up shortly, he said appreciating the CM’s initiative for the development of the temple.
Along the Waheng Leikai to Tera stretch of the Imphal-Jiribam highway, 78 street lamps have been erected for which two transformers are required which will be completed after the Yaoshang festival, he added.
Imo also expressed that construction of the community hall inaugurated was taken up years back under the MLA Local Area Development Fund as was proposed by the locals.
During the inaugural function Member Ward No 7 of Imphal Municipal Council, rtd lecture of HTT College, Dr A Brajakumar Singh; Dr BR Ambedkar Awardee, Sh Subadani also attended the function as president and guest of honor.
Before the inaugural function, Imo had also handed over the newly upgraded SYPO ground at Mabudhou Mantri Leikai to the locals.
