IMPHAL, Dec 23: In separate gun related violence in the state today two individuals including one who after filing nomination for the ensuing Nagar Panchayat Election had withdrawn his nomination have been shot dead.
In the first incident, the dead body of Md Sahabuddin, 45, s/o Md Jamaluddin of Lilong Turel Ahunbi Darrul Urrul maning was found from Ngangou Laukon a paddy field of the area at around 8:00 am today morning by the local villagers.
Even though the culprit is yet to be found, he was found with a bullet hole at the left side of his forehead Neighbours of the deceased have stated that the government should try to find the culprits at the earliest possible and punish them according to the law of the land.
They have also identified the victim as a simple person with no animosity with anyone it is hard to believe that someone could really killed him.
Another villager has further called upon the culprits to clarify on the issue at the earliest before the angered villagers erupt against the violent act of killing an innocent person.
After villagers informed the Lilong PS the police personnel came and picked the dead body at around 9:30 am today morning and has filed an FIR for further investigation on the issue. The dead body was later handed over to the family members, after post mortem of the dead body at the JNIMS.
In the meantime the dead body of an unidentified person was found lying at an inter village road connecting Lamdeng Khunou and Khunbi village under the Lamsang PS.
The unidentified dead body was found lying at the spot by Lamsang Police personnel.
According to the police, the dead body has bullet marks behind his right ear and looked like he was killed last night.
It further added that the person who looked to be in his early 40s is well built with whitish complexion and was found with white Reebok sneakers. The police have further deposited the dead body at the RIMS morgue for identification and further post mortem.
