  1. The greatest issues in Manipur is LAND now. Having controlled everything in Manipur politically, socially and economically by the Meiteis, now their greeds have turned toward tribals land. The ‘people’ wherever mention is none but the Meiteis and represents their interest or agenda only. The seed of communal hatred was sown by the Meiteis and that was due to their greed for tribal lands and not mind you, for their love of the tribal people. Why Jiribam in Imphal disrict? Why all the communal clashes happen when the Meteis were CM? The Naga- Kuki clashes, Meitei-Pangal clashes and the precarious edgy present? And not when the Nagas were CM? If the Meites have not interferred, situation will not be as bad as it is now. And as long as the Meiteis covet and tried to grap the land of the tribals in the guise of whatever name and excuses peace between the Nagas and Kukis will remain a matter of concern and the chance of peace between Nagas and Meiteis is bleak. It may hot up further. At present, the Meiteis are sowing the seed of hatred to achieve tribal discord and for their selfish end- tribal land. When the Nagas talk about ‘ancestral land’ they are not talking about the time when Meiteis or for that matter Nagas/Kuki, were still monkeys. There is no doubt that the hills belong to the tribal people. The mighty British administered the hills and the valley seperately with valid reason. Only Meiteis want to say that the hills belongs to them also. But that is greed and politics talking. Sugar coated words and rhetorics have no meaning when done with selfish intention. If only the tribals or the Nagas were as foolish as they were! But now among the tribal especially the Nagas, only idiots and selfish people who lust for chair and pockets will say it matter. It will be good not to be intoxicated by some moments of historical kingdoms.Doing and planning everything taking the name of tribal people for the Meiteis living in 2000 square miles of the Imphal valley have now brought about a situation that has no point of return! But if we have understanding, there is no need to be afraid of living as peaceful neighbours either in some forms of unions or federation respecting each other rights and sentiments. For that we have to let go of our selfishness! With regards! Long live the endangered species (Tribals) of Manipur!

The greatest issues in Manipur is LAND now. Having controlled everything in Manipur politically, socially and economically by the Meiteis, now their greeds have turned toward tribals land. The article has nothing but the covetuosness and the plot of the Meiteis over tribals’ land in Manipur in the guise of modern administrative convenience. This is Meitei perspective. The ‘people’ in the article wherever mention is none but the Meiteis and represents their interest or agenda only. When the Nagas talk about ‘ancestral land’ they are not talking about the time when Meiteis or for that matter Nagas/Kuki, were still monkeys. If that is what the author mean the Nagas would have no objection to the author claiming South Africa! There is no doubt that the hills belong to the tribal people. The mighty British also administered the hills and the valley seperately.Only Meiteis want to say that the hills belongs to them also. But that is greed and politics talking. Sugar coated words and rhetorics have no meaning when done with selfish intention. If only the tribals or the Nagas were as foolish as they were, the author might have succeeded in brainwashing the readers. But now among the tribal especially the Nagas, only idiots and selfish people who lust for chair and pockets will say it matter. When will our Kuki brethren wake up? At the risk of sounding repetitive, I would like to point out that the KUKIS were and are USED ALL THE TIME by other people to counter the Nagas. Nevertheless the Nagas have the patience and magnanimity to reconcile and live together with them peacefully as true Christians. But patience has a limit. It will be good if they know at this critical juncture though the Meitei government is always soft on them. The Nagas were never nor are the enemies of the Kuki. The Kukis need to think deeply on this before any further misadventure at the behest of other people. They should not miss the golden apportunity of uniting with their tribal counterpart if they think of a better future. Exploitation by the nagas is just bullshit and just mere rhetoric born out of lack of understanding. Long live the endangered species (Tribals) of Manipur! Kuknalim
