Rishang calls for peace and tranquility in state

IMPHAL September 18: Citing the tumultuous and chaotic situation that has plagued the state, Rajya Sabha MP from the state Rishang Keishing, has called upon the people of the state to regenerate faith and believe in God and to embrace the message of God with renew thoughts to bring peace and tranquility in the trouble torn state.

 

“One of the truest ways to bring lasting peace in the state is to believe in god firmly” he added that “where there is love there will be peace.”

The former Chief Minister of the state was speaking as the chief guest during the inauguration of the Mao community hall at Dewlahland on Sunday.

Denouncing the claims of land ownership that have crept up in different places of the hill districts in the state, he reasoned out that such claims have only plummeted the state into shambles, and added that the prevailing hatred, killings, discrimination today has only made the state a killing field.

Keishing further lamented that the present situation of the trouble torn state and said that putting others at stake in order to achieve some personal objectives or intending to revenge against one another is against the preaching of the Bible.

He further asserted that such intentions of indulgence in hatred and hostility can only disgrace a follower if Christ, who had preached the message of love and peace for one another.

Meanwhile, local MLA and minister commerce and industry Y Irabot, who was also present as the guest of honour stated that some underground elements are inciting others to demand for a separate entity in the state.

He further pointed out the frequent imposition of economic blockades and other disturbances in the state which has not only disrupted normal life in the state but has also hampered the progress of development in the process.

The minister further construed that in order to bring harmonious coexistence and tranquility among different tribes and communities living in the state, reformation of the administrative works needs to be encouraged.

The Mao community hall which was instituted by the Mao Union Imphal was inaugurated on Sunday in a function held at the premises of the newly constructed Hall situated at Dewlaland. The inaugural function was also attended by M Thohrii MLA, Mao A/C, as the president while D.D. Thaisii, minister (education & YAS) as guest of honour respectively. The function was also attended by guests and invitees from different tribes and communities.

Thohrii MLA, Mao A/C speaking at the occasion also lamented that the state has been riddled with blockades and bandhs. Appealing to the youths, Thohrii also emphasized to ponder on the prevailing issue.
