CM admits to have no knowledge on `Supra state body`

IMPHAL, November 14: Reacting to the formation of proposed “Supra State Body” in Naga populated areas of Northeast, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has today admitted that the state government has no knowledge on such issue. The centre has so far not intimated the state government in this regard, he asserted.

However, the Chief Minister reaffirmed stance of the state government to safeguard the territorial integrity of the state at any cost.

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi stated this at the sideline of the observation of 122nd birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru today at Congress Bhavan, Imphal.

He further maintained that the state government will try to get the details of ‘Supra State Body’ from the Prime Minister as well as Union home minister. However, such thing will be far beyond expectation, Ibobi averred.

MPCC president Gaikhangam also stated that the Congress party is committed to safeguard the territorial integrity of the state at any cost and so people need not worry about the territorial integrity.

The Congress leaders led by MPCC president Gaikhangam and Chief Minister Okram Ibobi also paid floral tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India.

The leaders present at the observation recalled the contributions of Pandit Nehru in transforming the country.

They hailed Jawaharlal as a visionary leader who had taken India to a new height of progress and development.
