IMPHAL, April 29: Sit-in-protests were staged at 11 different places in Imphal West on Sunday demanding safe release of Nungleppam Boby of Kadangban Part-I in the district.
Boby was reportedly abducted by suspected militants on April 26.
Sit-in protests were organized at Kadangband Part-I and Part-II, Lairenshajik, Lamlongei, Tera Urak, Lairenkabi, Shanjenbam, Sairemkhun, Haorang Keiyel, Haorang Keirel Khunnou and Kangchup Chingkhong.
The demonstrations started at 10 am and ended at 4 pm.
A meeting of 16 different civil organizations was also held at Kadangban Part-I under the aegis of JAC formed against the kidnapping of Boby.
The meeting appealed to all concerned to free Boby and warned of further intense agitations if he is not released at the earliest.
