IMPHAL, August 31: ASI aspirants numbering in hundreds took out a protest rally from Manipur Press Club today demanding the state government to announce their results. The rally was halted by police personnel near MG avenue entrance today.
At a press conference held at Manipur Press Club in the regard, visibility irritated candidates mentioned that the recruitment for sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, women IRB and Jamadars was conducted on December 31, 2010.
The ASI candidates also gave their written exams but the results has not been announced as of yet whereas the viva voice of the SI, IRB and Jamadars are announced by the State Government that it will be held from September 5 till 11 of the said month.
The candidates decried that the stance of the Government borders on favouritism and the ASI candidates have been victimized.
They also formed a JAC today in the regard demanding that the withheld results should be announced on September 4 failing which various agitations will be launched. The candidates also tried to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister by organizing a rally which was cut short by police personnel. Nearly 280 aspirants converged at Manipur Press Club today at the meeting.
