IMPHAL, August 31: Joint Students’ Coordination Committee today conveyed a press conference at the AMSU, head office at DM College campus.

Speaking at the conference, convenor Umakanta said even though the government has assured full security to the students of the region in other states of the country, assaults have continued unabated.

He continued that the mainland Indians look down upon the people of the region and said that students droving out of the state for education is a big loss to the state.

He further appealed to the state authorities to open up courses that are yet to be opened in the state at the earliest to minimise the crisis being faced by the students while going outside the state to study further.

Another member Thoithoi said people from the state who have been indulging in unwanted and uncalled for habits in other parts of the country and polluting their own culture should stop at once in the larger interest of the state.

He also added that the parents and guardian need to consistently check on their wards who are staying outside.

Member Th Suresh said that Post Mortem report of the deceased P Rabi should be disclosed as soon as possible by the central govt. He also alarmed all the students hailing outside the state to stay alert.
