Manipur, IMPHAL, Sept 18: The counting for the 4th Panchayat elections for the districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal and Bishnupur which commenced from yesterday morning at the respective DC offices was not finished today.
The counting which began from 8 am in the morning yesterday amidst tight security cover only saw completion of the Jiribam sub-division and the rest of the counting for the mentioned districts went till late in the evening.
The counting for today carried on till 6 pm. Results were declared for 10 Zilla Parishad,28 Pradhan,302 members for Imphal East. For Imphal West, 9 Zilla Parishad, 25 Pradhan and 222 members were announced.
Bishnupur district also announced 6 Zilla Parishad, 24 Pradhan,214 members and for Thoubal District, a total of 14 Zilla Parishad, 36 Pradhan and 442 members were announced.
