Kanral Anal to lead CNPO along with 5 others

CHANDEL, Feb 7: Six new Executives of Chandel Naga People’s Organsation (CNPO) led by eminent Social Worker Ws Kanral Anal as President nominated, have  taken the oath of secrecy during the Handing and taking over cum Installation and blessing service of the newly nominated Executives, held today at District head quarters Community Hall, Japhou Bazar in Chandel district.

Five of the Executives joining the President in the swearing of the oath included Th Angdun Maring as Vice-President, Lv Robert Lamkang as General Secretary, M John Chothe as Information and Publicity Secretary. Sh Manglem Monsang as the Speaker of Assembly Affairs while Ng Longly swear in as Finance Secretary.

The new Executives of CNPO installed today will assume Office of the CNPO, which is the highest decision making apex body of the Naga Tribes in the district.

Convener of the Search Committee and President of ANTA Wng Kohring Victor administered the oath of secrecy to the new Executives which was followed by blessing of the Officers with a word of prayer invoked by Rev Sr Tourngam Anal, who attended the occasion as the Blessing Minister.

“I am grateful to all the people of Chandel for the privilege given to serve. CNPO can go anywhere with the support of the Tribe Presidents in particular and all the people in general. As all people epecially the Tribe Presidents are the backbone of the apex body, CNPO, all decisions and matters related to the people will be taken in consultation with the people and its representatives’, said the incumbent President of CNPO Ws Kanral Anal while addressing a short speech during the occasion.

He (Kanral) honoured the outgoing President Gabriel Chinir with a gift. He also presented a gift to the day’s Blessing Minister and his Church Pastor during the speech.

The Outgoing President Gabriel Chinir while giving a farewell speech wished the President and his colleagues good days ahead and urged them to be strong and patience in times of adversary. He also wished them to overcome all daunting task and responsibilities ahead of them.

In today’s service, dignitaries on dais included all Tribe Presidents, Chairman of MACA Wng Lumdil, Adisor to UNC Ng Gilbert Monsang, President of NWUC Lh Bliss and President of NSUC Sr Jonigam Anal.

The programme was also attended by Village Chiefs, Pastors, representatives of various civil societies, students leaders, Social workers, intellectuals, govt officials, well wishers and friends.
