IMPHAL, May 21: The Manipur State Council, Communist Party of India has condoled the demise of noted writer Nongthombam Kunjamohan Singh during a condolence meeting held at Irabot Bhavan today, said a press release of the council.
During the meeting, State secretary Dr M Nara Singh, Secretariat members – B Sharma, Langol Iboyaima and Janata Dal (Secular) Working President Manipur – Manihar Goshwami as presidium members observed two minutes silence to pay respect to the departed soul. The members also shared the sorrows of the aggrieved family, it said.
The members during their speeches said that through literature, he spread peace and harmony in the state said, the Assistant Secretary of the party.
In a separate press release, the Senior Citizens for Society in a meeting held on May 21 with Laisom Lalit Singh – vice-president of the Association in the chair, expressed its deep sorrow at the demise of the writer who was also a founding member of the association.
The sudden demise of N Kunjamohan is an irreparable loss not only to his bereaved family but also to all sections of Manipuri society including the Senior Citizens for Society. A two minute silences was observed for the eternal peace of his departed soul, said the vice-president of the Association.
