IMPHAL, May 8: The State cabinet has approved to recruit Manipur Education Service Grade I, II and III, through the Manipur Public Service Commission soon, said government spokesperson Moirangthem Okendro.
He told media persons that the Manipur Education Service Rule, 2012 had come into force with effect from December 10, 2012 pursuant to a notification issued on December 4, 2012 issued by the department of Personnel and Administrative Reform (Personnel Division).
He said as per schedule I of the MES, the specific posts of Grade I (Joint Director and ZEO) is 18, grade II (DI school, asst director) is 53 and grade III (AI school) is 82.
50 percent of the posts would be filled up by direct recruitment through an open competition examination, the state Education minister said.
He said 70 percent of the vacancies under grade-I (Joint Director/ ZEO) will be filled up by promotion from amongst the officers holding substantive posts under Manipur Education Service Grade-II who have completed not less than five years of regular service.
About 30% of the vacancies are to be filled up through limited department examination from amongst the person holding post listed under schedule-IV, he further continued.
13 of the 18 posts of MES Grade-I, will be filled up by promotion and the remaining five posts is to be filled up under direct recruitment through limited departmental examination of the principals of the Higher Secondary School, or vice-principals of higher secondary school
