IMPHAL, Dec 2: The 23rd Imphal Book Fair is set to kick off from December 15 and continue till 24 of the same month at the Thangmeiband Athletic Club ground, to be jointly organised by State Central Library, Department of Art & Culture, government of Manipur and Raja Rammohan Roy Library Foundation, Kolkata.
According to a press statement, different publishing houses from the State and other parts of the country will take part in the book fair. As part of the fair, there will be spot painting competitions, meet the film artiste, meet the Shumang Leela artiste, meet the folk song artiste, recitation and short stories reading programmes will be organised.
The press release appealed to the public to cooperate in making the fair successfully.
The organisers have also appealed to all concerned to restrain from calling any general strike or curfew during the fair, the statement added.
