IMPHAL, Dec 1: Considering the positive response from the Assam Rifles regarding the demands placed by the KSO Ukhrul, the bandh imposed along Imphal-Ukhrul road is temporarily suspended, said a statement of the student body.
The KSO leaders have met the AR officials at IGAR (s) today and discuss the terms to bring an amicable solution to the Aishi villagers assault incident, it said.
Further according to the statement, the AR officials have agreed to perform `Hemkham` in accordance with Kuki customs and also duly compensated the victims who were assaulted on November 24 at the Chassad AR headquarters.
The AR officials at IGAR (s) have further agreed to investigate the assault incident to punish the culprit as per the law, it said.
