LAMKA, January 19: More than 300 persons were today administered with anti-rabies shots at a Dog-bite cell, Rapid Action team counter opened in the district hospital since the start of the dog-bite menace. However, it is learnt that not all of them were actually bitten but many of them had had encountered dogs and suffered scratches.

Meanwhile, staff have expressed that they are finding it hard to cope with the menace due to the rapidly increasing number of victims.

Meanwhile, a mother of a three-year old boy was heard telling the doctor that her son was bitten last December but since there were no fatal signs, they had ignored any medical action. When asked about the condition of the dog, she had said that the dog had been dead ever since then at which the doctor advised her not to ignore any dog-bite as it could proved fatal.
