IMPHAL, Feb 18: A team of District Police Commando Imphal East arrested two active cadres of KCP (Noyon) during frisking and checking at Wangoi Thounaojam Leikai on February 16, a Police release said.
The arrested persons have been identified as Longjam Salejudge alias Ibothe, 24, son of L Nawang Singh of Wangoi Thounaojam Leikai and Samom Davidson Meitei alias Dev, 22, son of (L) S Chaoba Meitei of Langthabal Lep Makha Leikai.
One Chinese made hand grenade, five M-16 ammunition and two US Carbine ammunition were seized from the possession of Samom Davidson Meitei, the release said.
Further, from the disclosures made by Longjam Salejudge Singh another cadre namely Athokpam Chinglemba Luwang alias Bocha, 43, son of (L) A Ajitkumar Singh of Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhei Mapal was also arrested, it said.
Investigation revealed that Davidson lobbed grenades, planted IEDs in Wangoi area. Davidson along with Salejudge have extorted huge amount of money from various shops in Imphal City for party fund, it said.
A case has been registered at Wangoi Police Station and investigation is going on, it added.
