Child rights meet held at Bishnupur

BISHNUPUR, March 23: A coalition meeting for Manipur Alliance for Child Right Bishnupur was held today at People`™s Resource Development Association (PRDA) Bishnupur Conference Hall.

The meeting was attended by SI, Bishnupur Women Police, Th. Sheatle and Advocate and member Secretary of child Welfare Committee, P. Premchand as both presidium members and resource persons and spoke on Right to Education and POCSO Act.

In his speech, P.Premchand has said that mob justice is inflicted by the people whenever any crime occurred. He advised that people should not take law in their own hands but keep faith in the court and try to understand that the court can bring the right justice. The public should also keep in touch with the police department and they can file a petition to the court when the police neglect their duties, said P. Premchand.

Sheatle also said that the police also face difficulties when they go for spot enquiries due to lack of cooperation from the public and complexity in crimes due to juvenile related crimes.

The meeting was also attended by NGO partners and representatives of member organisations of MAC in the district.
