IMPHAL, March 15: Lt Gen MMS Rai, AVSM, VSM, GOC in C, Eastern Command accompanied by Lt Gen Bipin Rawat AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, GOC 3 Corps arrived in the state today for a two days visit HQ IGAR(S) a press release from PRO HQ IGAR(S) said.
The army commandant was briefed on the prevailing security situation in the state by Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra IGAR(S). The Army commandant appreciated the endeavour of IGAR(S) and also conveyed his whole hearted support to their relentless effort in tackling the security situation, it said.
The release further said that the Army Commandant lauded the efforts of the soldiers for ensuring peace and tranquillity in the state and asked them to continue the good work in the professional manner and in the true spirit of the `Friends of the North East People`™.
