Swine flu suspect declared free of H1N1 virus

IMPHAL, March 19: Giving respite the Swine Flu anxiety in the State, a 31 year old patient who had been hospitalised with Swine Flu like symptoms was declared negative of the H1N1 virus after swab test at Ranbaxy facilities at Mumbai.

The patient, belonging to Langol Leimakhullen Leikai was hospitalised in a private hospital on March 13 with symptoms close to Swine Flu, but the swab test which returned on March 14 by courier from Mumbai, confirmed the patient was free of the virus.

It may be recalled there have been three confirmed cases of Swine Flu in the state. While two of the victims did not survive, another was discharged from hospital after treatment.
