Trade Union lauds civil bodies for help extended to blast victims

IMPHAL, March 19: The Coordinating body of Trade Union has lauded the various organisations, associations and union for extending financial help to victims of Khwairamband Keithel bomb blast that occurred on March 11 which left 3 dead and 22 injured.

While speaking at the press conference held today at Iravan Bhavan, BT Road Sotinkumar, chairperson, coordinating body of Trade Union has said that various organisations has been contributing to extend help for the blast victims without waiting for any aid from government`™s side after the incident. The contribution is still going on.

He also said that after much effort by the coordinating body and different civil organisations, the state government has finally given its word to extend monetary assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the 3 dead victims and Rs 2 lakh each to the seriously injured victims.

Sotinkumar noted that whenever there is a bomb blast or other similar unfortunate incident happening in the state, the daily wages earners or the poor suffer. It was also the workers who suffered in the bomb blast incident of March 11.

He reiterated that such incidents have been frequent in the state and appealed to stop from killing the innocent people who were earning their daily wages.
