IMPHAL, May 15: The Councillor of Ward No. 22, Imphal Municipal Corporation, Ngamminlun Kipgen highly regretted the recent culminating incident at Thingsat and Kangchup Singda Dam under Saitu Sub Division, Senapati District between the tribal and Meitei communities.
According to a release of the Councillor, the incident call for better political solution by the government.
The Councillor beseeched to all his tribal and Meitei brethren to desist from making such uncalled incident into one of communal hatred but strive to uphold the democratic system by giving space for the law to bring the perpetrators to justice, it said.
He further appealed to all social organisations/clubs/bodies to refrain from inciting communal tone on the incident but to bring about sense of belongingness and brotherhood amongst the two communities.
He also said he believes that media fraternity will play a crucial role to restrained the people and pave the way for peaceful and harmonious coexistence, it said.
