IMPHAL, May 15: The All Manipur Working Journalists`™ Union (AMWJU) has in a press release said that the old guards have handed over charge to the new Standing Committee (2015-17).
According to a release of the union, a meeting was held on May 15 presided over by the newly elected President, Wangkemcha Shamjai who is the Chief Editor of Kangleipak Meira at the office union and formed a Standing Committee made up of 11 members for the session 2015-17.
During the meeting, freelance journalist, Ratan Luwangcha as Vice-President and Joint Editor of ISTV, Jit NIngomba as General Secretary were elected along with Imphal Correspondent of Times of India, K. Sarojkumar Sharma as Secretary of Manipur Press Club, Imphal Correspondent of DY 365, Borun Thokchom as Treasurer, Senior Reporter of Imphal Free Press, Paojel Chaoba as Joint Secretary (Organisation), Sub-Editor of Naharolgi Thoudang, Kshetri Meghajit as Joint Secretary (Administration), Reporter of Sangai Express, Athokpam Jiten as Publicity Secretary, Photojournalist of Indian Age, Asem Bhakta as Internal Auditor, The People`™s Chronicle, Sukham Nanda and Reporter of Poknapham, RK Bullu as Standing Committee members, it said.
