IMPHAL, Jun 24: ATSUM volunteers today set ablaze a goods laden truck at Sapormeina and stopped several other vehicles in Chandel during the second day of its indefinite economic blockade along the highways.
According to a member of the ATSUM, Maun Tombing group its social culture secretary Zilein Aimol led volunteers attacked a goods laden van coming from the Moreh side along the Imphal-Moreh highway. Some loaded trucks were also stopped at Pallel area, the member said.
Further according to the union, volunteers led by Mechell Haokip had set on fire an iron-rod loaded truck bearing registration no MN 07C 3611 around 2pm.
He said the blockade will continue until the government calls for negotiation.
