IMPHAL, Aug 27: State deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam will launch the a distinctive press jacket tomorrow at the Manipur Press Club, Imphal.
The All Manipur Working Journalists`™ Union, affiliate of the Indian Journalists Union had initiated steps to supply the jackets with the word `Press`™ impressed on it to at least minimise the dangers faced by reporters while covering several grave situations.
It may be mentioned that during the ongoing agitation and other similar situations which is quite frequent in the State, reporters had to face many hindrances while reporting the events like the police-mob confrontations or while commuting during such agitations.
