IMPHAL, Jan 18: Based on reliable information, a team of District Police Commando, Imphal East conducted search operation in and around Modern College, Porompat on January 15 during which one active member of PLA/RPF organization was arrested, claimed a release of PRO Police Department.
The arrested cadre has been identified as Leimapokpam Sanjit Singh, 43 alias Naobi son of Late L Gunamani Singjh of Khurai Thangjam Leikai.
Investigation revealed that he was involved in extortion from general public. Incriminating articles were seized from his possession.
A case has been registered at Porompat Police Station and investigation is going on, the release stated.
