Fortnight campaign on oil and gas conservation concludes

IMPHAL, February 1: The Deputy Chief Minister stretched on the imperative need to conserve resources during the valedictory programme of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s forthnight campaign on Oil & Gas Conservation at Sangai Hall, Imphal Hotel today.

Manglemjao Sarokhaibam IGP Ops also attended the function as the guest of honour and proposed several alternatives like car pooling and improving public connectivity and increasing the public transport points.

India as a country that imports 80 percent of its crude oil should understand the dependence and initiate creative ways to conserve more, the DCM said.

Usage of unrenewable resources needs to be in a conserving mode not only in Oil and Gas but also in Power, Water and other resources.

According to him, “Manipur is a heaven on Earth, where people continue to enjoy all these taxable resources by evading the payment”.

The Deputy Chief Minister also talked about conserving time by narrating several anecdotes from his past. He draws exemplary lifestyles of other countries to stretch the point.
