Petitioner’s counsel submits composite written argument in Prithviraj case

IMPHAL, February 26: In the ongoing case hearing against MLA of 27-Moirang Assembly Constituency Mairembi Prithviraj Singh who is also Parliamentary Secretary (Youth Affairs and Sports, Tourism) in the High Court of Manipur, counsel of the petitioner submitted composite written argument to the court today.

The Election Petition Case No 1 of 2012 charged the MLA of submitting false education qualification in the election affidavit to the concerned Returning Officer (RO) wherein he claimed to have passed MBA course.

The case was filed by Pukhrem Sharatchandra Singh who had faced MLA Prithviraj in the election.

The composite written argument was submitted by the petitioner’s counsel Senior Advocate Naorem Kumarjit Singh to the Bench of Justice N Kotishwar.

Mention may be made that the final argument of the case began from February 22. Three advocates representing the petitioner and respondent of the case had placed their arguments before the court in two days. As the proceedings of the final argument ended yesterday, judgment of the case has been kept reserved by the court.
