Residential Training Workshop held

IMPHAL, February 10: The 2nd batch Residential Training Workshop on Low Cost Hands on Experiment for hill district was held today at Youth Hostel, Khuman Lampal.

The objective of this workshop is how the teachers should teach the students in the easy way and to conduct experiment at low cost.

Altogether 25 science teachers from government institutes and 50 science teachers from private institutes of hill districts attended in the workshop jointly organized by the Manipur Science & Technology Council (MASTEC) and Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science Technology, Government of India, New Delhi “Residential Training Workshop on Low Cost Hands”.

Special Secretary (S&T), H Gyan Prakash speaking during workshop observed that the status of science in hill district is quite inferior when compared to valley districts which accoding to him was due to lack of facilities and improper teaching method.

He said that the workshop will illuminate the participants (teachers) how to teach and make science easier to ensure that the students can comprehend to the method.

Director of MASTEC, Th Surendranath said that some of the institutes skipped science experiment which is essential for the students in their academic syllabus due to improper infrastructure, lack of equipment etc. while noting that conducting experiment as the most important element for science subject.

Experiment can be done in easy method at low cost, he said adding that the way of conducting experiment should be made easier.
