IMPHAL, Feb 10: Proscribed outfit United National Liberation Front (UNLF), in a statement informed that the 29th Rising Day of its armed wing Manipur People’s Army (MPA) was celebrated on February 9 at its General Headquarters, Central Headquarters, Battalions and units in and outside the State.
The statement signed by M Sakhen, Director of Publicity of UNLF expressed gratitude to all those who extended mental and financial support to the celebration.
It also appreciated media fraternity for disseminating information of the revolutionary movement to the masses.
The celebration held at the GHQ was presided over by Chief of Army Staff, MPA while Chairman of Military Affairs Committee of the outfit Kh Pambei who has been guiding cadres of MPA graced the celebration held at the Central Headquarters in which Secretaries, Directors, Staff Officers and cadres holding different positions acted as the chief guest, it said.
The statement added that the MPA’s 29th Rising Day was also celebrated at its 291, 293 and 241 Battalion in the presence of its leaders.
