IMPHAL, Apr 20: Co-ordination Committee (CorCom), a conglomerate of several armed outfits has boycotted the visit of President of the country Pranab Mukherjee who is scheduled to take part in Khongjom Day observation on April 23.

CorCom in a statement signed by its Media Co-ordinator Ksh Yoiheiba said the plan to inaugurate the monument cum tourist centre at Khongjom in Thoubal district by the President is an insult to those warriors who lost their lives fighting against the mighty British forces in the Khongjom battle, given the fact that construction of the complex has not been fully completed. Khongjom is a sacred place where the warriors sacrificed their lives for the sake of integrity of the State. The inauguration plan is a mockery not only to those deceased warriors but to the whole people of the State, it stated.

It appealed to the people to extend support to the call of the boycott.
